Luke has a been a great friend of mine for many years. We have played in bands together, lived together and watched a lot of TV and movies together. Luke really enjoys film. He is very passionate about it and that's part of why we have asked him to perform the ceremony. He is a man of passion and conviction. He respects film making, storytelling and what it takes to bring something together and make it great. Given that the Wedding is The Big Lebowki themed, Luke was a natural choice to officiate. Luke lives in Kearney with his wife Trish and his recently born new daughter, Ellie. Chelsea and I are very honored and excited to have Luke bind us in marriage. Luke is an ordained minister with the Church of the Latter-Day Dude.
I met Chris back in the day, 1997-98'ish working at Supershine, a car wash in Kearney, NE. We became friends and eventually moved to Lincoln, NE together. Chris and I were roommates in Lincoln for a number of years and it was quite commonplace that if one of us was around, so was the other. I would probably still be living with Chris to this day had I not met Chelsea. Chris is a hard working, hard living kind of guy whose company is always a pleasure to have. I am a person who enjoys comedy and just funny things in general and that's what makes Chris such an excellent person to hang out with. Chris is by far the funniest person I have ever met in my entire life. Period. He can do dry humor, psychical comedy, tell funny stories, impressions, all of it. If you are hanging out with Chris, you will be laughing, guaranteed! I've very honored to have Chris be a part of our wedding, he is truly a great friend and his presence at the wedding I am truly looking forward to! Odds are, if people are laughing, Chris will be found close by!
I met Kenny back in mid-2009 by chance. I was at the Watering Hole (before the preppy remodel) getting a beer and Tony V, a mutual friend who was working there at the time told me about his band him a few friends were starting, but they had no guitarist. I told Tony I would like to come over and jam with the boys and see how it went. I went over to the practice space of what would become Wooden Coat's practice space, we messed around with some tunes and that was it. I left and Kenny, Bobby and Tony discussed if I would be a good fit for the group. It is my understanding that Kenny was the only one who voted no on me joining what would become Wooden Coat. I got the chance to get to know Kenny through all of our band practices, going to the bars for beers and backyard BBQs hosted at Kenny's house. Kenny has a great sense humor, loves hardcore music and comedy movies (including The Big Lebowski) so a friendship was formed easily, it was as if I'd known him for my whole life. Kenny is one of those friends who you don't speak to on a daily basis but when you do get together, you can pick up right where you left off. Kenny is a hard working, honest and one of the most caring people I've ever met and I respect him greatly for that. He is a true friend who says what he means and means what he says.
Kasey Dude!!!! Kasey is my cousin, whom I've known my entire life. He currently lives in Kearney, NE and lives with his wife Karen, son Quincy and daughter Serenity. Kasey enjoys hunting, fishing, PBR and listening to Bob Dylan records in his kitchen. Besides thinking myself would never get married, I didn't think Kasey would have either, but time changes everything. I was fortunate enough to be a part of Kasey and Karen's wedding and am very pleased to have Kasey be a part of mine. Kasey is a hard working man who busts' his ass, day in and day out for his family and he always does it with a smile on his face, and I respect him greatly for that. He is a loyal and true friend and cousin, I'm so happy to have a family member in my life like him. Kasey is a conversationalist by nature so make sure you get a change to say hi to Kasey at the wedding and ask for his opinions on the Firefly TV series or the current state of Nebraska football, he will let you, trust me.
I've known Harlan since high school and I am honored that we have remained friends all this time. Harlan is very intelligent and I always learn something new when I hang out with him. Harlan and I bonded over our love of music. Harlan used to have a collection of Metallica T-shirts that was quite large and for the duration of high school, that's pretty much all he wore, I though that was awesome. Harlan and I also both enjoy going to concerts and some of the best shows I've ever been to were with Harlan. SLAYER!!!!!! I respect Harlan for being a man of honesty and sound opinion. Harlan is always willing to look at problem from multiple angles to determine multiple resolutions and outcomes which makes him an excellent person to talk to if you are in need of some advice. I've bent his ear a time or two and he has always offered valuable advice.
Dustin is my brother and is one of the most special people to me in the world. He has taught me so much about life, and for that I am forever grateful. Dustin is a lover of life. He is a man who enjoys his movies, music and food. He knows what he likes, he knows what he want's and he likes it that way! Dustin has been a true gift to our family and we are all so very proud of his accomplishments and achievements he has made. Dustin also really loves to dance, I'm hoping you get to see some of his moves at the wedding, they are not to be missed! Dustin also really enjoys bowling, and even won a bronze medal in the Nebraska Special Olympics! If you have not met Dustin before, make sure you stop by and say hello, he loves to meet new people and you will have a new friend for life. He will remember you 5 years later, trust me, his memory is razor sharp!
Heather is Jesse’s younger sister. We first met in 2011 when Jesse brought me to meet his family for her son’s birthday party. She works and lives in Omaha with her husband, Lucas, and sons, Huxley and Saber. Heather and I share interests in music and all things vintage. We have quickly grown to be close friends. I’m so thankful to have her support through all aspects of life, and I can’t wait to have a new sister!
Cody is my bigger little brother and my Man of Honor. Although we spent our childhood years terrorizing each other and probably driving our mom crazy, we grew up to be best friends. Cody currently lives and works in Lincoln. There are few people in my life that are as loyal as my brother. I knew Jesse was the person I wanted to marry because of how Cody respected and acknowledged his ability to make me happy. I am so thankful for his support and encouragement, and couldn't dream of having another "bridesman" to stand beside me on our wedding day.
Princess, P-Funk, Pizza, whatever you prefer, and I met in 2012 when I started at MacPractice. In true Lincoln fashion, Princess had actually known Jesse for quite awhile before we met, and they'd even spent some time making music together. I knew Princess and I would be lifetime friends when she agreed to take a spontaneous 6 hour roadtrip with me last year to see MGMT. Princess and I share many interests, especially music, and she always inspires me to take the positive outlook on life. I am happy to have her as part of our wedding party, and know Jesse and I will continue to cherish her friendship throughout our marriage!
met Jessica in 2010 when we both worked in Tech Support at Verizon Wireless. We were put onto the same team, and initially I think we both hated each other. I thought she hated me, and she thought I hated her, so it was just easier to mutually hate each other. We ended up sitting by each other and quickly bonded over our disdain for unbearable customers. Jessica currently lives and works in the Dallas/ Fort Worth, Texas area. Although we live hours apart, Jessica is one of those friends I can go without seeing for years and pick right back up where we left off. I feel so lucky to have her as a part of my wedding day; I know she is genuinely happy that I've found my perfect partner.
I met Michelle in 2007 while attending Morningside College in Sioux City. We met through a guy I was dating at the time, and while the relationship didn't last, our friendship did. We bonded over music and movies and spent endless summer nights running the streets of Sioux City. Right now, Michelle lives in Boulder, Colorado where she is studying Linguistics at the University of Colorado. Michelle's desire for adventure always reminds me to keep a sense of wonder, even as I settle down and begin a grounded life. I'm happy to have her be an important part of our wedding!
